One of the things I didn't realise until my second year of living here is that Australia is relatively far away from many countries.

My family lives in the East Coast of the US. When we’re looking for plane tickets, anything around $1500 is okay. If you can find one for less than $1000, grab it! It’s a really good deal. Also, flights in themselves are long. Just from Brisbane to LAX is about 13 hours. Add the rest of your trip and you’re looking at a 20 hour trip.

But I wouldn't change it for the world. The weather down here is amazing! Even during winter the sun always shines through. Not too many cloudy days. People are really friendly and laid back(even though initially i found them a bit racist.)
